I just about massacred my face trying to shave

When you are talking about a straight razor are you meaning a cut-throat or the type where you replace the blade side on it looks kinda like a T...if its the last type then that if used carefully will do a better job than Mach 3 or any disposable...not the kind of razor to do a quick scrape with though...I have a very old one and I was lucky enough to get a box of the blades that fit at a swap meet for military surplus...the blades are from the '40's but they can still be bought but it has to be said that overall they work out a lot more money than the Mach 3/disposable as you can't get quite as many shaves from them until they rip you to bits.

Try the disposable Gillette Daisy Plus for ladies...best one I have found yet. Use them 3 times before looking for another one...cheap too.

I use electric, I'd end up chopping my head off with even a disposable razor...

i go ta mach 3 as well but i havnt shaved my chin in over 2 years so i prob couldnt help ya much there

Normally I use an electric but i have used my dagger a few times.

when you cut yourself, use a styptic pencil on the wound. It stings a tiny bit but helps the platelets in your blood clot and stop the bleeding. You should be able to find one at a drugstore.

when i get around to shaving, i usually use a mach 3 or this cool panasonic linear wet/dry shaver and it gets a nice close shave and stuff, i've always wanted a stright razor like my grandpa used to use though, those were cool, i've never cut myself either and i've been shaving for like a year (i'm 17)

I am 14 and do not like having facial hair so when a few mustache hair comes in I shave off asap since it doesn't really grow in even, kinda looks like a "Dirt" stache scince the hairs arn't really even.. and now and then when you get a few stray hairs from your eyebrow .. (nobody wants a UnI-brow) I also shave to keep my sideburns trimed and my hairline neat... Thats why I have all da ladies

I use a straight razor (MarkM - the 'T' style is for barbers since they can throw away the blade. The 'throat cut' kind can be very effective but you've got to learn the strop.) to shave with because I have extremely coarse hair that kills the Mach3 blades too quickly.

Shaving is an art form that has been destroyed by the disposable razor. If you do some searches for shaving properly with a straight razor you'll see what I mean. There are a few basic things that I think may help. The first thing you should do when shaving, is take a hot shower first. You could just steam your facial hair with a hot towel but the shower works better. The hot water and steam will relax the facial hair making it easier to cut. Next, you need a good shaving creme and aftershave. Get rid of that Edge Gel crap... if you really want to treat your skin right, try L'Occitane En Provence. I use the shaving soap and aftershave creme. Shaving with gentle soap makes so much sense plus applying it with a brush makes shaving even easier. If you don't want to use a brush, another great product is called Kiehl's Close Shavers Squadron. I use this for when I travel. Its got a weird name but its works great. Lastly, get yourself a stimpik (or shaving stick) for cuts. Neosporin works but it's not the best thing for shaving cuts. Ok that's enough for now... hope this helps. Good luck.

But you, not that I asked you but as you were the only one to kinda answer...what is it that you call a straight razor then the "T" type or the Cut Throat? as I can't think of any other styles of razor other than the disposable ones .....remember you call the pavement the sidewalk

Uhhh yeah my skin aint worth 23$ per 2.5 fl oz... For that kinda doe I can get me a Hat, or a I could... uhmm
