    I have 2 Yorkies.

We don't dig the long hair look, either. We get 'em cut pretty short.

They can be kind of yippy. When I only had one, he was quiet as can be. Didn't really bark at anything. Best dog in the world. We got a second one. She annoys the hell out of me, at times. Barks at anything that moves. She even gave that habbit to the male.

I wouldn't give either of them up for anything, though. Very cool dogs.

We leave ours home during the day, from about 7:00 to 3:00, 5 days a week. They do just fine.

As far as training goes: We got ours to go on newspaper's in the basement. Very easy to clean up. They DO still have some accidents in the house, though.

I wouldn't recommend doing it that way. They are fairly good about going outside, if you get em started from the beginning.

We have toy Yorkies which are smaller.

And my larger one is about 4-5 pounds.

every one of those dogs I have ever seen in person has been a loud, snarling barking annoyance. If I wasn't an animal lover I would really get some ideas about their football sized bodies.

I have a yorkie they are awesome. Mine comes to all the paintball events with me and even stays overnight camping. If you dont plan on showing it try to get a big one. A small one will be to delicate and you cant do anything with it. Female yorkies tend to bond with males.

I never pass up a chance to whore pictures of my dog. TY to adam shannon for photo.

Definately keep their hair short unless you wanna show them. Otherwise all kinds of nasty things get stuck in their coat.

                  On paper training:
I always saw it as giving permission to the dog to go to the bathroom in the house. The 3 yorkie i have seen have had no problem with being off leash and when i walk my dog i just open door it runs out pees/poos runs back in.

Oh and if you are going to get a tea cup yorkie just buy a hamster They cost 6$ and are less maintenance.

                        Get a beagle!

My brother found this puppy for 100 bucks...the original owner just used the dogs for hunting and kept them outside in a muddy cage. She was really dirty and had lots of fleas, but my bro cleaned her up and its been about 4 weeks now.

EDIT: Her name is Kaija (its Sweedish, and its my mom's maiden name)
