    Internet lag/choppiness

Ok, Starting yesterday my internet has been exremely slow, and choppy/laggy. It is especially laggy on sites with a lot of links, like this one, pbn, AO and ebay. However, AIM and Yahoo messenger work perfectly. So it's just Explorer....Also yesterday, Norton found 4 Trojan Horses on my computer. According to Norton, they were all healed and OK. AdAware also found 46 infected files...which were quarantined. So what is wrong with my internet? And no, it's not my connection, because both our computers upstairs internet work perfectly, and they run on the same modem. Please help guys...

P.S. Don't waste my time because it took me 15 minutes to write that whole ****ing thing cause my internet is laggy...

sucks for you... hey read the sig :P

But really, do you have that Windows Virus if not go the microsoft site and get the "anti-it" programs to check to see if you do, ino that will make your comp run REALLY slowly...
Last week i thought i was indecisive, but now im not sure anymore...

if i were you i'd format the hard drive, just wipe it completely clean. When dealing with trojans, what people do is connect to your comp with the one you downloaded, then they can upload as many more undetected as they want and you'll never know they're there. This can also slow you down considerably because the people that are using the trojans against you can set up a socks4/5 proxy on your computer, so all the info they see, goes through you first. And don't think norton can detect all the trojans and everything is fine, cause I know of plenty that are still undetected by norton, mcafee, and many other AV's. Formatting will also completely remove all of the adware/spyware on your comp, so that shouldn't be a problem anymore.

If you have 4 or more trojans just do a clean install of windows, and make sure you run windows update and have a virus program running all the time.

i'm tellin ya, running anti-virus' and keeping windows updated is not enough. I've been around trojans for a long time and have talked to people that have written some such as beast and optix pro. they will hide many undetected trojans in folders that you didn't even know existed. There's also some programs that sit in your registry and continuously download new trojans from all over the internet according to where the trojaner wants them to come from.
