How do you pronounce "egg"?

We had a discussion in class last year about how you pronounce the word "egg". Some people, I found out, pronounce it "ay-g" and some pronounce it the right way, "eh-g". Also, the same people will say "lay-g" instead of "Leh-g" (for "leg") But they will say "keg" and "peg" like they rhyme with "egg".

Am I right? Is it "eh-g"?

that is always how i pronounced(sp?) it. hmmmm that is wierd how some people pronouce(sp?) it.

I don't know why other people pronounce it different, but everyone I asked about it was either one or the other, and it was about split in half.

one reason for the mispronounciation(sp?) of it would be best described with the word "yall", for example...:"how yall doin with yer eggs(a-y-g-s)??"... see how it adds to the affect, doesn't it just make you want to cry??
