For the past few days my computer has been going WACKY! Whenever I scroll on any forum it's just slow, jumps, and alot of times the web page will jut freeze! It happens mostly only on forums, but that's all I'm ever on. Things seem to only not freeze when I have absolutly nothing unning except the web page. It took me about an hour to acces the sig thread becasue every time it would just freeze. This has only just begun to happen latley so i can't see how it could be a hardware problem..did I mess with something I shouldn't have? Any help would be SO much appreciated as soon as possible, I'm going INSANE!

A couple suggestions in no particular order
1. Clear EVERYTHING from the "Startup" folder on your Start Menu
2. Go into Start>Control Panel>Add/Remove programs. Uninstall every program you can.
3. Download the latest updates from Microsoft
4. Click on Start>Run>"msconfig" (no quotes). Click on the "Startup" tab. You can uncheck almost everything. If you dont know what something is, expand the "command" column and find the program on your harddrive. If its not microsoft related uncheck it (and uninstall the program and delete anything it leaves behind). If you still dont recognize what it is do a search in google with the "Startup Item" name, and you should be able to find out. This step can make a big difference.
5. Click on Start>Programs>Accessories>System Tools>Disk Cleanup. Delete that stuff.
5. Defrag your hard drive.

1) defrag... start>programs>accessories>system tools>Disk defragmentor Usually makes a world of difference
2) start clearing out your harddrive of useless files
3) run scandisk.Comment

Wow, this defragmenting seems as though it's going to take quite a while. Also, carnifex...you seeem to have a good idea of what's going on? PLease get back to me.

Yeh carnifex it was something cheesy along those lnes, ad aware is gonna get run right...now.I can't seem to find it, someone wanna give me a link to where Ic an dl it?
