Anyone know anything about Army ROTC?

If anyone can give me any info about ROTC I would appreciate it. I want to join the armed forces when i am through with college and i figured ROTC was the best way to go. Does it matter that i am a sophmore and would only get the 3 years of training instead of 4? I have been to the Cornell website but i am looking for information from people who have experienced ROTC first hand. I am basically looking for any and all information i can get. Thanks

You may have to take an extra year, maybe not. Go to the ROTC on campus and get all the info direct from them.

Yes, you will be commissioned a 2nd lieutenant upon graduation, into the branch of your choice(ie: infantry, ordnance, signal, etc.). However, you WILL BE COMMITED to finishing out the contract of 8 years of service...which isn't hard to do, really. The Army pays SOME of your tuition BTW, or (but don't quote me on this), they will pay it all, but you MUST pay it back after commissioning.

You will do, if I remember right, 3 or 4 FTX's per school year (weekend field drills), and can also do 2 weeks with the local National Guard in the summer.

Again, I'm not a ROTC authority. Go to the ROTC building and get all the info you need (all the CORRECT info )

Oh yeah, you get to wear BDU's around campus, and nobody thinks you're crazy..........too much.
