Question for all you Counterstrikers

Pardon my newbiness...

I want to get into this game. Now, can I just buy the original Half Life and get a free upgrade to counter strike somewhere (I heard it's supposed to be a free upgrade, but I don't know)? Will the CD key for original half life work for CS?

Or do I have to buy the Half Life Counter Strike version of the game (more $$$)?

Just buy Half-Life. Go to www.counter-strike.net to download CS for Half life.
