Hey everyone,
I have been part of a "program" called Project Dolphin for a long time now. This "program" actually keeps track of how many keys you type on a daily or hourly basis. The results are then sent to a server that compares you with everyone else in the world.
I was actually one of the original users back in the day, but the project abruptly came to an end due to lack of funds. I lost over 5 million "strikes" on the keyboard. Well, the project was picked up by a guy in the Netherlands and it is up and running again.
I have started a team called "Automags.org" and currently I am the only member. I want to invite you all to join the team and keep track of how many keys you hit on a daily or hourly basis.
The website if you are interested is: Project-Dolphin
There is a small program you download and this sits in the program tray on the bottom right of you screen (default). This will keep track of your information and can "Pulse" the server every hour or 24 hours if you like. You can also manually pulse the server.
This program is similar to SETI@Home, but runs continuously in the background monitoring your keystrokes. Anytime I type, play a video game or surf the internet I get my keystrokes counted and added to the Automags.org team.
I figure that we type so much stuff here on AO that will be able to destroy alot of the competition out there. I don't think we will be able to ever catch up to the Dutch Power Cows (trust me, they are the number 1 typers), but I think we got a chance to get pretty high. Your typing will also benefit the USA because they rank by country. The US is in second place right now!
To join the team:
1. Log on to the server using your "Username/Password."
2. Click on "Teams."
3. Click on "Search/Join a team."
4. Type in Automags and click search!
5. On the right hand side of the Team name is a "Join" button. Click that and you are a new member!!!
Happy Typing!
Rob
