    Idiots on ebay

Okay, well heres the story. I'm selling my egg2 so that i can buy a halo b. A few people bid on it and at the end of the auction this kid wins it. In my auction description, i said i would include 2 new 9v (batteries). He e-mails me saying "
Wait, wait, wait......... On the eBay description, it says "I will include two brand spanking new 9 volts"... Is that 9 volt batteries or 9 volt hoppers? "

Why the hell would i include two 9 volt hoppers, brand new no less, with my egg2. There was no pictures of them or a description of them anywere else in the auction. Now he doesn't want to pay me because he said " I thought you were selling the eVLution and two 9 volt hoppers... If I knew it was 9 volt batteries, I would not have bid on it."

Its not my fault that you can't read, god i hate people like this so much

I don't understand how ebay really works, I've never made an account or bid on anything. What are the rules and stuff so they make sure that nothing gets stolen or not paid for?

Turn him into Ebay. A bid is a contract, he is legally bound to pay you for the auction if he won it.

Ebay takes a seriously dim view of shirkers who don't pay up after winning an auction.

At the very least, he owes you your auction fees, the insertion and finals, since he's screwed you on the thing now.

I would drop it and eat the $2 ebay fee.

Sure he can "turn him into ebay" and even leave negative feedback. But there is nothing to stop that guy from retaliating with negative feedback along the lines of "Deceptive description of product! Item did not match!" etc. I had one guy complain, after bidding twice, and winning, that the shipping cost was too high, and he wasn't going to pay. Had I left him negative feedback, I would have immediately received "This person tries to rip you off! Read fine print!" in my feedback. It just isn't worth it over a few bucks.

Just drop it, dont give him any feedback unless he gives you some (so you leave your retaliation options open), and post it again. It only takes 3 days.

Pretty much the only real thing you can do to someone is report them to ebay (who knows what happens then), or leave negative feedback.

The only difference between stealing from someone on Ebay and stealing from someone on a forum like this is that Ebay only works once (since either your account will be banned or everyone will know what you did).

you could try the "give 2nd highest bidder a chance" thing, if the price of his bid was not too low, you wouldnt have to remake the auction and repay all the fees, and youd only lose out on 20-30 cents in final value fee costs, plus the difference in price...just an idea...
