AO: We are back from the dead... again! After an 18 day outage, we are finally alive and well. Who knew how complicated updating software/databases from 2008 would be. I still have alot of tweaks to make, but my main goal was getting everything patched and updated to 2026.
Vbulletin 6 has changed alot since 2008 so we will have a ton of new features to dig into.
Wrong. They do not want to charge you to play CS. Steam is a content delivery and authentication system. While new games could be based on a monthly subscription system, Valve has debunked this "they will charge you for CS" myth many times. With a CD key for HL/CS/Dod you will be able to activate the game via Steam and play with no monthly subscription fees ever.
Basicly I think Valve wants to get the Steam system tested and more content servers in place so they can offer HL2 over it.
IMHO Steam is a good thing. I'm still up in the air about the CS 1.6 changes. In fact I have offered up one of my game servers to be a content server for my ISP's customers. It will be very nice to have a local cache of that content.
