Steam problems

I dl'd steam and everytime i try to login, it just stops responding. And now when i click icon or try to run it in anyway, it will flash an hourglass and then it wont run.


Is there any patches I should have?

Everyone I know has been having problems with this piece of crap. Just play 1.5 until you HAVE to use steam, don't even bother until then. One person out of like 30 I know got it to work, then it just got an error after 5 minutes of playing.

I can't even get steam to run.... with 1.5... now it won't even open.


This is stupid beyond stupid because WON is being demolished (as told to me by a few admins) and you wont be able to play 1.5 once that happens. I think they should just hand it over to gamespy because the program is 15x better.

You should be able to use 1.5 from the original half life directory, with no relation to steam.

Yes I run it through game spy... I just wanted to get steam to get ready for the change over...

I always had to go through quite the hassle to get CS all setup...and now with all this crap im not even going to bother trying to figgure it out.

www.counter-strike.net has a fix for the steam problem.

Steam ended their beta, so you have to get the new one. I'm currently waiting on a fileplanet download. 110 minute wait time.

steam sucks, im quitting CS (cept for on the box) cause it transfered to steam.

ah.. i thought you had to get original steam first.. then that was a patch.

Has anyone even player 1.6 yet?? Because if you have i'm sure you'll agree with me that they runined the game. The skins are all like colored almost cartoony, The gali for the Terrorists dominates any other gun in the game, and its WAY easier the 1.5. And when you go to join a game in steam prepare to wait at least 5 mins.
