Well, it made $22 million opening weekend and will probably gross somewhere in the neighborhood of $60 million, so I'd say a sequel will most likely be out in a couple of years :)

Or better yet, why don't you kill yourself. No, really, die. Drop dead, don't leave a note, in fact burn your house while your little ego is stuck in a bench vice so that you'll also incenerate yourslef and everything you own with it. Because that's all you're worth. You're not even wirh thte time it'll take for the house to burn down, so just kill yourself. You're a waste of space. You are nothing, you always will be nothing. Don't leave a note, you're not worth the ink. - Tyger -
well the movie basically ends with a voiceover telling you "There is Going to be a Sequel!!!!....and action figures, a multimillion dollar marketing deal with McDonalds, and a new spinoff series on the WB"Originally posted by Albinonewt

True, but without commercial success that's just wishful thinking.Originally posted by Jack_Dubious

Actually, me and a couple of friends were extremely dissapointed in this movie. It was a decent movie but could have improved in the following ways:
1. I realize the movie was supposed to be "dark" but you cant really see anything! A couple of times during some of the action scenes the characters seemed to be in complete darkness. Very frustrating.
2. Camera angles were awful. Im pretty sure there wasnt a single good shot of the werewolves. I wanted to see a good shot of them but it didnt happen. Also, during the action scenes the camera went from one person right back to the other and you could never really get a fix of what was happening.
3. Fighting was less then stellar. Hand to hand combat wasnt anything to special. Towards the end when all the guns were on the table i thought that maybe the fighting had potential...but no, the guns were hardly used.
4. Simple effects were not followed through on. My biggest example of this is when the abomination was knocked in the air towards the cement pillar. I remember thinkin "all right, this thing will shatter and look really cool" but no, he simple hit it and fell down without so much as a crack.
5. Lastly, we are told that an abomination is stronger then both werewolves and the vampires, so why then did the abomination get absolutly destroyed by the elder vampire. Is the abomination stronger then regular vampires but not elders?
In conclusion, it wasnt a horrible movie but i was disappointed. It may also be that i expect to much from movies these days.Comment

Good movie! Kraven was annoying, though. He tended to overact and was practically spitting out every line..Comment

My wife asked the same question too. I would explain it as that the vampire elder has had centuries to hone his fighting skills...but the abomination, while stronger, only had his power for a few minutes before they started to fight. Chalk it up to experience.Originally posted by Vash02

I agree with Vash.
The directing during the action sequences was attrocious.
HUGE disapointment.Comment

I'll jump on the "didnt like it" bandwagon.
The story was boring, and when it reached it's conclusion, the only one who could have cared about the outcome was someone who was totaly submerged in the genre. They could have saved money filming it in black and white, since it was so dark.Comment

Agreed. I thought, however, it was a pretty good movie. My only real complaint was vampires reproducing in the normal fashion. It blows apart the whole thing. You age normally until you reach 25 then never age again? Wouldn't a species of immortals who could reproduce normally over populate the planet?Originally posted by CaPoEiRa

But besides that the movie was well done. They actually put time in thinking up a story. I liked the fact that it was dark. As for the fight scenes it was GOOD to finally see something different. I get sick of Matrix style fighting in EVERY movie. Okay it was cool for the Matrix but EVERY movie doesn't have to have it. I love martial arts. I have been doing martial arts for 20 years but that doesn't mean that it is appropriate for every movie. Hong Kong action sequences can totally take away from the intensity of the story because they are out of place.
My 2 cents.ULE Body Level 10 Automag intelliframe + retrovalveComment

The way it sounded to me was that Kraven was attempting to combine his blood (elder lycan) with the blood of an elder vampire. As it turned out Corwin was only an offshoot from Kraven mixed with an bite from Selen. Sure he's an abomination, but a diluted version of one.Originally posted by Vash02

Something else....why was the female elder vampire from Europe so weak? Oh well you can't expect every loose end to be tied up. Pretty good movie. As far as I was concerned it was better than the Matrix Reloaded. I didn't have to sit there listening to a speech about causality.
Oh yes and I liked her leather outfit.
That thing must have been uncomfortable to wear, however......

A bit off topic, but did you ever consider the monsters in one movie, and then compare it to a monster in another movie, and realize that one bunch of characters had it a lot worse. Or realize that one bunch of characters were just wussies compared to the other movie.
Thats why I think more movie companies should capatalize on these "Vs." movies.
I mean, any physical beast compared to any form of undead!?!... come on! I think the people in the "Tremors" movies were pussies. If any strange creature attacked my town, I'm pretty sure I'd want Corie Feldman on my side. He's been up against EVERYTHING!!!WE ARE DEADCELL, AND WE WILL RUN THROUGH YOU
