Thanks guys, I turned in my paper today, don't know what my grade is on it yet. I would post my views but I'm still not sure the difference or definition of conservative/liberal even though this thread did help. Even though I am done with the homework, please keep this thread open, it's very interesting and I'm actually learning quite a bit.
Liberal or Conservative?

I don't want to turn this into a debate on people's idea, but please look into Alabama's problem with their tax structure if you truly beleive in the above.Originally posted by logamus
thanks for reopening this miscue.
taxes. man do i hate taxes. income taxes need to go away and be replaced with a national sales tax. i dont have the numbers infront of me, but trust me it makes total sense. which is why it will never happen.

Id call myself a pragmatic, moderate conservative.
Guns: A guaranteed right in the constitution, i think I have the right to own any gun i want to assure my safety, but common sense says that with todays technology there has to be some restrictions on the type of weapons allowed. But I still think any citizen should be able to protect themselves.
Abortion: Disgusts me, this is ine of the issues I feel most strongly about. I am against it in any and all situations, but think it should be legal ONLY in cases of rape, or when the mothers life is endangered.
Death penalty: Nope. Cant justify killing with killing.
Military: flaunt it if you got it. Its important to flex your muscles once and a while, and show people that you mean business. I also think service should be completely voluntary.
Gay stuff: Sorry, marraige is a sanctioned union between a man and a woman, NOT a man and a man, or a woman and a woman. I believe the spiritual aspect of it is more important then the legal. But all it really comes down to is verbage. In the states eyes, marraige is a contract. So a domestic partnership is fine, but damnit dont call it marraige!Comment
