Good news! My kid got THE CALL for an Army ROTC College scholarship.

Yesterday we got a letter in the mail from a contractor from DoD that schedules Physical exams for DoD ROTC and Academy appointmets. It is ordering him to make an appointment for eye and medical exams. He has to make them within five days and report back to them withing five days as to when they are scheduled to happen. They chose the doctors for us. I guess these are contracted Doctors to do this for them. And they have to be completed within 6 weeks.

So we think this is a good sign. No one seems to think they would spend money on medical exams if he was not in the last stages of offering. But we now have to go do this and see if he passes these. And we now looking good on this it appears.

He's right at the end. I made it through the whole process, including the army physical tests, interviews and the whole bit. Unfortunately a case of spinal meningitis and a history of seizures as a child blew me out of the running.

I would bet he is in as long as he passes his physical. its just too bad hes going into the army. GO NAVY BEAT ARMY

One point for army none for me. Of course it really doesnt matter which branch he goes into he is going officer so us enlisted know there pretty much worthless anyway... There is a reason that office and officer share so many letters.

very very true, enlisted do the work the officers get the pay. I have worked real close with a few for a while I would rather get paid what I am now than to work the jobs they get stuck in. Do you know if its official if he made it or still waiting
