Dont bother with the 4:10 unless you like zippy gas milage and burning up your treads. Go witha nice 3.73, that will give you the grunt and reasonable 65mph drive rpm.
I have built a few F bodied cars. Make sure you have a shop fix your speedo when you change the tires and gears.

With a T-56 4:10s arent too bad.... but 4:10s are for a drag car.... and if you are building a quarter mile oreinted car you will get a hellova lot more bang for your buck out of an auto with a huge converter. Then again....if you are going that big.. better get a 12bolt to go with it.. that stock 10 bolt is going to go buhbye with your first good launch on sticky tires
