College chemistry is totally kicking my a%% right now. I've always had trouble with any chem class. Its really frustrating not understanding this stuff. I'm seriously thinking about dropping this course. Should I drop or just keep trying? College sucks right now.

I failed it twice
But my wife has her masters in it. If you need help I could hook you up with her e-mail address
Or better yet, why don't you kill yourself. No, really, die. Drop dead, don't leave a note, in fact burn your house while your little ego is stuck in a bench vice so that you'll also incenerate yourslef and everything you own with it. Because that's all you're worth. You're not even wirh thte time it'll take for the house to burn down, so just kill yourself. You're a waste of space. You are nothing, you always will be nothing. Don't leave a note, you're not worth the ink. - Tyger -

pbcustom98- yea your right on the dot...
College books are really really expensive
you can spend from 300 to 500 for just four classes...
kenndogg-also if you sell your chem book back
you can get from .25 cents to 25 dollars for it...
so you just might want to stay in the class...Comment

Right now I just feel overwhelmed. I had a quiz last Thursday and I missed every one of the question. Its been only 3 weeks and I feel lost already. Yeah I won't get jack back if I resell my books. Even if I do drop it I will eventually have to take over. I'm gonna try into looking for some tutors on campus. Its still early, maybe I can turn it around. My trader feedback

Yeah, you DEFINATELY don't want to get behind in chemistry.
Thats what sucks, everything is cumulative. If you don't understand it in the beginning, you will have NO IDEA what is going on 2 months from now. Trust me, I'm taking the second semester chem class at Colorado State for the second time... And suprisingly its easier when you've heard it all once before
Hey Zero, how much did that Chipley cost ya?

I'm taking General Inorganic Chemistry right now. Its almost into the fifth week and I've been managing without the book, long story about ordering online but thank goodness the library has a reference copy. I admit it isn't the most exciting of classes, and at least in my class we meet twice a week for 3 hours each so there is alot of material covered in that time. For me personally I find chemistry to be alot easier than when I took biology, all that polypeptide, genome, etc. type crap confused the heck out of me.
kenndogg - All schools have some type of tutorial program set up, ask your professor or the secretary of the dept. they are usually very willing to help you contact them.
You also have to look if chemistry is a core requirement for your curriculum, or can you take another lab science that you think you will have an easier time in. Some colleges allow you to take a your science requirement at a community college which is sometimes easier than taking it at the university you are attending. Also will dropping this class set you back in terms of credits you need to graduate. Your school may give you some type of refund for the course depending when you drop it, then you are stuck with a book you can sell back for like 3 dollars. If you drop the course sell your book online, you can get more money for it than from your university bookstore.

Stick it out, don't drop the course. If you get a lousy grade, you might be able to take it again and replace the grade. Look for a tutor.
I was in the same boat. I had a chemistry of materials class. I hated it. I figured that I didn't need it as an electrical/computer engineer. Now I find out that the class I take next semester, microelectronics or something is basically chemistry of materials 2. So, study hard, it might come back and bite ya.Comment

Gen Chemistry concepts aren't hard... it's very mechanical and you don't have to think much after you get used to it. Here's the trick: You have to practice, which takes some work. If you get on a pogo-stick for the first time, you're gonna fall off over and over. After practice, you can talk on your cell at same time without problem.
