Well, if you've been around long enough you know that I'm not exactly the ladies man, but a girl asked me to the Homecoming dance and I was realy excited because I liked this girl. Well now my dad tells me that we are going to San Diego that weekend. I knew that we were going to go, but he said if we get the car we wouldn't go that weekend, and we got a new car(98 Chevy Lumina), and I asked my mom if we are still going and she said, "No probably not this weekend, mabe later, and you can goto your dance." And I immediatly called up anna and told her that I could go, and we were happy, talked on the phone for a while. And today, my dad says that we are still going down there. I ask if there is any way that we could go the next week and he says no. I feel realy bad, I go lay down, and I hear my dad talking on the phone with my aunt(who lives in San Diego) and my mom, and he says "Well I guess we could go on the 10th, that would still be before(missed what he said) but it would be after my birthday, eh I don't feel like going on the 10th, I'll just go this weekend." And I couldn't beleive he didn't even take me into consideration. I feel like crap, sure there will be other dances, but this is the first time I would have went with a girl and now its all messed up. Do you guys think I should tell me Dad that I had a date, if I do he's gonna start making fun of me and start trying to get all father/son on me and stuff. He said I could stay home the weekend, but I can't drive, so what would the point be, there are no busses running at midnight. I just feel realy bad, and I don't know what to do.

Well if u really wanna go to the dance, either get a ride from a friend or get a ride from her, and just stay home the weekend. Homecoming dances are really fun, my advice is do all that u can do to get to go. Or as said in the post above just say i cant go but would u like to go out sometime.

Well, I don't realy know anyone that can drive, and even if I did I doubt they'd wonna drive me 20 miles to my house. And I already hang out alot with her, guess I forgot to mention that.You smell like dookie... No really though.Comment

they were going to find out eventually that you had a date right? why not tell them right off the bat that you HAVE one? They'll get over it...its natural for parents to be oogly and such with their child's first date...whenever it comes....mine were.
But glad you got your dad on the right side..plus no dad WANTS to break up his son and his son's woman from being together...now his daughter...he'll change plans to make sure they are AWAY that weekend for her
