yeah, i agree they shouldnt share everything because we as a nation (USA) are a scared nation. The bulk of us cant handle hearing certain things. I just think that if they shared a little bit, or even made something up, it would calm a lot of people. They dont have to release info on new airplanes and jets and whatnot, but if (for example) they (pending it was just a weather balloon at roswell) proved just that, then a lot of people wouldnt bust out their binoculars as often. Now i think I should blame all this on The Discovery Channel. That station gets me everytime when there are episodes like "are we alone" and stuff like that. Maybe the Discovery Channel is run by alien life forms.........

Almost any aircraft flying in the united states will show a red and green light if viewed from the top, bottom, or front.

Well, I think that having things in the sky that are unidentifiable makes life more fun. Who cares if it was just a weather ballon or a real life alien space craft? I just thought that it was cool that I saw something that I couldn't identify.
I agree with Rather to a point. I do believe that there is life out there. As to why they would visit us, look how interested we are about native tribes in the Amazon basin or Africa. Maybe there is something they could learn about us.
Or, on the converse, maybe they are just as limited in technology as we are, and are marooned in their own solar system.

just thought of this, its kind of weird as in the 60's we could successfully get a rocketship up and on to the moon. but for like the pas 15 years or so we haven't. hmmmm, something very suspicous

there are billions of stars in the galaxy, there are billions of galaxies in the universe, it is naive to think that the conditions which enabled life to form on earth have not happened on some other planet in the universe. It is also naive to think that it may have only happened in one other instance, Im willing to bet that these different species are at all levels of evolution and on some planets there might not be intelligent life.

But, the chances that any of them have, or will reach our planet is unlikely (i didnt say impossible for all those firm believers). Just consider the fact that the nearest star(other than the sun) is something like 6 light years away, that means that if this civilization could reach the speed of light it would take 6 years to reach the nearest star, and 6 years to get back. It is incredible to consider that the nearest highly advanced civilization is located around that star, so we're talking much much further away.

oh, and as for the universe being infinite, no one realy knows that, its just speculation, infinite is a complicated idea to wrap your head around

Maybie they built self containing space station type things and came here over the course of many years just happening to stumble across our planet.

lol, thats a long shot, not saying its not possible... but, say the nearest base planet that they could launch from is 10 light years away, they wouldnt want to make that trip many times to establish their space station, so the ship that they send up to establish it, would have to be incredibly huge to carry all of the material to this planet.

Ok, how about a big space ship rather than space station, thats more of what I ment that they built it there than it just kinda ended up over here

lol, ok ok, thats a pretty good idea, there are just so many factors that come into play... whats the life span of different intelligent life, how curious are they of other worlds, lol, i cant think of anything else right now, im kinda tired

Life span wouldn't have to be a factor if reproduction occured on the space craft...
