i try to play and a window pops up and says "a debugger has been detected, please unload and try again.".... what the heck does this mean... this sucks i cant play.. anyone who is good with computer stuff help would be appreciated so i can get rollin.

I never really played it on the X box, so it was all fairly new to me.
Stuff I liked
The AI
I didn't know that the game had such a lot of squad based combat, and I was pleasently suprised when my teammates didn't act retarded and try and run headlong into a swarm of bad guys. The way they move, shoot and shout stuff out all sounds authentic, very immersive. Equally, the enemy AI is very good, the way they work in teams, move in and out of cover and try to flank/ambush you is fantastic. Although more often than not I've found them trying to take cover behind a small pebble or oxygen molecule.
The weapons
All the weapons have a use, there is no one utterly useless gun in the game, I love that. I also particularly like how the alien weapons are good at taking out shields with constant rapid fire, whilst the human weapons are good at taking down shieldless enemies with ease, but requires a fairly labourious(sp) reload procedure. Very nice.
The Effects
The pc version of Halo uses lots of the nice DirectX9 routines, for this reason, the effects in the game are breathtaking, jump out of the transport and shine your torch at the floor and see the bump maps on the floor give the floor texture that extra realism, also in the alien structures, lots of the walls have recurring indented patterns on the wall, all of which cast realistic shadows and just looks stunning. Also the camoflauge looks amazingly, the way that the contourse of your gun ripple the image behind it, and whilst fires is fantastic.

Stuff I didn't like
The maps
The levels in the game, while big, are rather bland and undetailed, similarly with the internal levels, it appears as if the mappers couldn't be arsed halfway through and just bolted all the previous bits together, It's boring and also gets VERY confusing when your objective requires you to trapse through 300 kilometers of identical coridor maze.

The distribution of ammo
This is only starting to become a problem, but there are no guns and NO ammo anywhere where I am, meaning I'm having to fight very sparingly with my ammo for a few minutes, then melee with the extremely hard aliens at the end, and when I die, I have to do it all over again. I know saving ammo is supposed to be a building block of FPS tactics, but if you expect me to kill thousands of aliens, then some more would be nice.

The overall Graphics
I've mentioned in the previous bit about how much I like the effects, but the overall graphics for the game are pretty crap. The models and skins appear to be directly ported from the Xbox version, with no attempt to touch them up for the PC port, and since I'm playing on a high definition monitor, not a tv, and a high resolution (in comparison) the edges of models all seem very visible and ugly.

The Framerate
The one thing I hate about Halo for PC is the fact that it's designed to run on average at 30 FPS, this is fine for a TV since it cannot refresh much faster than that anyway, but for a monitor and PC game this is appaling. I totally understand and appreciate the power required to do all the DX9 trickery, and the size and complexity of both the models and the maps, but i'm running a 2400 Athlon XP, Radeon 9500 and a gig of ram, and I still have to run in 640*480. Had they been able to optimise the game to run 50-60 FPS at 800*600 on my PC, Halo would be near one of the most perfect games I've ever played. Everything works, everything feels like it has it's place.

i knew it was out, but i am just too broke to have it, and i also need a new computer cuz all i have is my Laptop and my Vaio is always getting viruses . Maybe a nice gaming computer and joystic or controller would make a nice chrismas present. i can't wait till i can play halo pc i like the warthog the most so far from Halo.

every time I play I look for Bugs and Fruit... and well have only seen it once and it was always full. Then I normally get stuck with some team killing screwhead and having to stick plasma grenades to his dome instead of poping veichles.

I did most of my kills in this game.. and there were 2 banshees.. I just r0x0r the guy in the other banshee and go off killing some ground bound ppls

Only other thing that I fear more is that damn fuel rod gun


Honestly I prefer doing some warthog teamups on a majority of the maps... or constant fast attacks with the ghosts in their deployment zones.

On the downside, If I could see out the window of the sniper rifle I would use it more, but as of now its useless for me.

HA! shooting down banshees is fun and easy. i don't know what everybody's complaining about. you people just can't aim. and hardly anybody can aim the fuel rod gun either. besides the fact that the shots travel slow. if mango is my gunner in a warthog the ONLY thing i fear is a bumping into a random tank or rocket launcher while coming around a corner. on death island mango and i took out two tanks and a rocket warthog using a machine gun warthog. those damn tanks took forever to die! i was freaking out. busted out all the skills i could muster. we escaped without getting hit. not even shield damage. the whole time i was thinking. "john keep that gun on them. i can't keep this up forever!" then they started dying. BWAHAHAHA!

YUP! However, saw you playing last night and tried joining your server but it was full. I'll keep an eye out.

I don't have Halo yet but eventually, maybe I will. If I hear more good news about it, I'll pick it up. I played the xbox version so playing the single player isn't a big deal for me. But if the multiplayer mode proves to be a good, team game, I'll get it for sure.

Fuel rods are pretty much the secondary fire of a banshee lol
The flamethrower is pretty dangerous too, but it gets alot of tks if your in a crowded area so I dont use it much. The easiest way to take down a banshee is to use a squirpion and rocket it down. The rockets from a rocket warthog or the rocket launcher are too slow to get a good shot.
