Ok story time!
About a year ago the fan on my GeForce 3 TI 200 died... so instead of just replaceing the fan, I ordered a Crystal Orb made by Thermaltake to put on it... I did and all was well.
Now I seem to be a Noise Nazi... I just spent $40 on a Zalman Flower HSF to replace my noisy Glaciator II, and it dropped only moderately... I found out that the Crystal orb contributed alot to the noise level, and I really don't want to spend another $30 on another Video card cooler...
When i ordered the Zalman, I also got one of their 92mm fan/bracket combo's, so what I want to do is unplug the fan on the video card, and then just have the 92mm blow down the slot. It won't be directly on top of the Heatsink, but I figure the larger fan will move more CFM around it to make up.
Will I fry anything by doing it?
(Oh, and NOTHING on my system is Overclocked)
So basically, I want to replace this:
