Or better yet, why don't you kill yourself. No, really, die. Drop dead, don't leave a note, in fact burn your house while your little ego is stuck in a bench vice so that you'll also incenerate yourslef and everything you own with it. Because that's all you're worth. You're not even wirh thte time it'll take for the house to burn down, so just kill yourself. You're a waste of space. You are nothing, you always will be nothing. Don't leave a note, you're not worth the ink. - Tyger

look at the way the building is stepped.. it takes up almost a whole block at the base, then steps to be thinner for 40-50 floors.. then looks like it steps again . like the empire state building.. I could be wrong

Vincent Laforet is a Los Angles based Fine Art & Commercial Photographer, Director/DP who sepcializes in aerial photography.

He was named named "Photographer of The Year" by The New York Press Photographers Association in 2000-2001.

2002 Pulitzer Prize -Feature Photography - One of five photographers from the New York Times Staff to be awarded one of the year's two prizes for photography for a portfolio of work from Pakistan and Afghanistan following the events of 9/11/01.

          As per the photo:

The following jpeg image looks straight down from the broadcast tower atop the Empire State Building in New York, anddown to the rooftops below. Hang onto your hats for this one!

The photo was taken two years ago by New York Times
photographer Vincent Laforet and widely circulated then.
Pictured are ERI's Deke Johnson and Tom Silliman inspecting
the feeds inside the balun of ERI's Master FM Antenna, about
          1,300 feet above ground level.

We understand that when the Times ran this photo, they put ahuge enlargement in the lobby of their building on 43rd street.

Also, the Times reportedly ran the photo in their "best photoevents of the year" edition at the end of 2001. That in itselfwas amazing since most of the photographs were of 911 events.

Ask for Tom at the ERI booth at the NAB Convention, and shakehands with a remarkable gentleman.

I work in Television. And tower climers make BEAUCOUP BUCKS!!!

Climbers we hired charged $10 per foot just to replace the flashing lights that are FAA regulation...

                Of course, it's a 1,000 foot tower!!!

If you have the balls, it's a good job to get!

Oh and by the way, the last one with the elephant is photoshopped. The elephant poo isn't there in the real pic. but the lady DOES need to collect the crap...

ITS NOT A FAKE...CNN did a show on those guys and their job a few years ago. Those two guys in the picture were on the show too. They talked about it and what its like being up their. I think any one who says "oh I would like that job cause I like heights" is a moron. Its seriously one of the most dangerous jobs their is. Those guys were talking about all the people they knew who had fallen off and it was freaky. The gusts of wind up there basically catch them and can throw them off. The guy on the right in the photo actually slipped off that tower thing during an icy night and only some little metal latch thing on his toolbelt happend to snag on a wire and save him. If I was in hell that job would seriously be my punishment.

It was also featured in Ripleys beleive it or not, i beleive the guy does that to change the light blbs in those red/green lights so planes dont hit the building, also perform minor repairs would be my guess.

In 1982, I put up six microwave dish antennae on Tower 2's mast. Sucked to watch them go down too.
