    UFO: Aftermath

I've been waiting for this game to come out for months. Had to have it orderd in from germany so I could play it two weeks early. Heres a quick look inside the game.

    Intro and Overview:The beginning:Tactics:
A few tips on game play and tactical strategies to defeat the alien menace.

Alien base missions are important for a number of reasons. They are a prime place to pick up new weapons, Human bases of the non military type effect R&D and manufacture speed, The number of human bases directly effects the available research AND the level of alien technology. Do no become over eager and capture bases to quickly. The aliens will surely come back with a vengeance and plasma weapons.

Aliens themselves can be extremely dangerous. As the game unfolds you will mostly see aliens with human hosts or alien constructed mutants consisting of dead earth life. The alien with human hosts are able to use weapons. They use them effectively and are pretty good shots, beware. Alien constructed mutants ARE weapons. DO NOT allow one to get within 5 feet of your troopers. If you do you can very easily loose the entire squad. Pure blood aliens are heavily armed and armored. They have superb range and a knock out punch, be very cautious when fighting these creatures. Pure bloods are most prevalent at crashed ufo sites early in the game and base defense missions.

Project DreamlandDelegate delegate delegate. You must learn to delegate missions as the game progresses. All missions are listed by difficulty and level of impact. There are just to many for your lone squad to handle. Delegate the lesser missions to normal COE troops.

EncumbranceAliens and mutants are not all created equally. Some are more vulnerable to certain types of attack. Use R&D to autopsy specimens, this will give you an idea of what weapons to use against them.

The default difficulty level is set to HARD

Train your troopers when you can as often as you can. The bonuses will add up quickly.

Human weapons. Human hybrid and alien weapons.
Range is excellent on all of them. Damage vs. human targets is very good. Some are Laser based, Some Plasma based, Some warp based and some PSI based. All pureblood aliens carry shielding vs. energy, plasma and warp weapon types. Some times a bullet is better. They can be very useful when combined with human weapons in a squad.

Base defense missions are death traps. SAVE before accepting them. Equip your troopers with the best. You may be forced to use 20+ grenades during a base defense, make sure to load up on the nades. MY first base defense mission was replayed 10+ times before I was able to win with acceptable loses to my squad.

Unaccepted/undelegated missionsAliens mutants will bum rush you under cover of flame throwers, acid throwers, paralyzing mutants. It is very possible for a group of 12+ mutant weapons to bum rush your squad under cover of other mutants laying down area attacks or paralyzing beams. Form a parameter, destroy the closing mutants, use grenades and launchers to soften up mutants, Employ a sniper to soften up the ranged thrower mutants. You can survive these attacks, they simply require the commander to recognize the wave attack early on and form a defensive parameter. If you do not one will get through and ruin your day.

Wounded/paralyzed humans will be killed when an alien gets to hand to hand range.

    Conclusion
I'm giving this game an 8 out of 10 buds. It's extremely entertaining and in depth. The plot is enthralling and expansive. The only negative comments I can make on it are a lack of multiplayer and lack of ability to shift the camera to a flat angle during super zoom. This can create camera problems on extremely crowded urban maps.

Here are a few images from the game.
One of the first creatures you will see. Alien with human host.
