So Cal Residents... Union Strike
It seems that Albertsons, Ralphs and Vons are having some form of a labor dispute... I would figure that none of this would really matter to almost anyone unless you:
A) Live in Southern California
B) You buy your own food at these grocery stores
It seems that some contract terminated on Oct 5 at midnight. Since these stores are all part of UFCW (United Food and Commercial Workers) Unios, the contract had alot to do with wages, benefits and all other things. Negotiations have been going on with these companies and the UFCW but nothing that has been agreed upon. UFCW has decided to call a vote from all members of the union t osee if a strike is in order. Being an employee at Albertsons in the San Diego area, I went to this so called Union mtg. I heard Albertson's side of the story already and it made sense to me. It was all fair. At the union mtg it seemed that most if not all were up for this Strike. I'm posting this here to let those in the So Cal area to buy most if not all there groceries on friday so to not go thru any discomfort i.e. in-experienced cashiers taking forever and having to wait in line for hours, having to go thru the picket line and so forth. I'm totally against this so called Strike because it's a major pain in the rear for all parties invloved including the customers.
Well Sorry for taking up valuable space that could've been used for some other random thing here but I felt that those in So Cal should know what's going on. By friday we should know if the strike will happen. Sorry for your time.
