plasma donation.

all you need is a beating heart with a good physical health sheet, and a fear of needles doesnt fly well.

so i saw an ad on tv, thought i would give it a try. at my local clinic you get $20 first visit, $35 second. all consecutive visits are $20-25. you can donate twice a week, but not within 48 hours. if you refer a friend, you get $20 per new friend. process takes 1-2 hours, and it found it very interesting to watch my blood go into a machine and watch my plasma go out. then to watch the separated blood "return to me" along with a saline solution. let me tell you the room temperature saline flowing into your arm is definitely a weird sensation. feels like sticking your arm into a freezer. its also worthy to note that because you get your blood back, it doesnt make me feel woozy(like a blood donation), so i could drive home immediately.

not a bad way for a college student to make a living by....living.

yeah I did that for a bit... but since I went to korea I stopped and havent done much more than the standard donation.

My brother knew a guy that died giving plasma. He was in good shape. It was just after their physical test that the military gives.

It's all about the sperm banks. I've done my research on those, and most are pretty tricky to get into. You need to be like, a perfect person. Some places let you just show up and do your business, but that's rare. You have to go through tons of testing. Most places make you sign up for like, 6 months at a time, and you 'donate' twice a week. You get paid 30 - 50 bucks per donation though. Also, you don't get paid until the end, after you get tested again.

yes but then you have the moral dillema of offspring running around without you knowing about it.

I did plasma for one summer, but then i started getting scar tissue on my arms. Decided that it wasn't worth it after that.
