Deadeye - I understand what your saying, but that was one year. What, may I ask, does that have to do with this season? Nothing. And, "That Marlin's WS ruined baseball"?? How did that ruin anything?
The Yankees salary for this season is 160 million, while the Marlins' is only 50 million. But they don't buy their team. (I can break it down for you more, if you'd like).
How is what the Yankees are doing any different than what the Marlins did in '97? They find the best talent around (whether it be from farm teams or trades), and pay alot to keep it. I guess you can argue that every team does that, but the Yanees have a slightly larger edge because they have 160 million dollars a year to spend (maybe even more?).
Sir_Brass - Well, they keep their players because they can afford to. The marlins, and alot of other low-income teams, can't. They find new, young talent, develop it and make them good until they can't afford to pay them anymore, and are forced to trade them.
Ah, hold on a second...I'm still trying to figure out what your saying in that second part. "The yankees are a real team, not just a collection of talent. They win because they play as a team.
Teamwork + skill + talent is the reason the yanks win..."
Um...let's see...Wtf? Yes, the Yankees do, but saying the Marlins don't? How else do you think a young team with one of the lowest salaries in the game made it to the World Series? No, they certainly didn't have teamwork, nor do they have any skill, and theres no chance they have talent...
"NOT because they are bought. that is the marlins ."
Yeah, that makes alot of sense. You know, the Marlins do spend 160 million a year on their pla...wait...thats the Yankees. The Marlins have one of the lowest salaries in the game, how can they buy their team?? Some of the Marlins' players weren't anything to be bought in the first place. But look at them now. Teamwork, at the least, certainly didn't get them there
.
Damnit, this thread turned into a flame war...It was just supposto be a fun little thread celebrating a young team making it to the World Series, lol. Oh well.
