dirt bike help

im lookin to buy a used dirt bike. Me and my homi wanna get into it but we have only ridden once. Right now all I need to know is what size should i get. Ive seen a lot that say 125 and 250.

Im 6' 4" 225 so do I need the bigger engine? I dont have endless money so is it aight to get a smaller engine, and does it go fast?

Sorry Im such a dirtbike newb. But right now all I need to know it what size to get. Because name brands arent all that important to me right now. Dont got enough $$$$.

well...it al depends, the frame on a 125 is practicly the same as a 250, but with your weight, unless you get a aftermarket suspension...i would go with 250. The 250 is alot faster than 125, but yet the same size. the bike itself will be heavier, so unless you are weak...i wouldnt go with the 250. Anyways....if u want a 250 i have one for sale its a 99 RM 250 with mx tech susp.... 2200 obo

im 6 5 220 and i have a 200dr and a 650dr. I prefer the 650 (just easy as hell to do wheelies an stuff) but the 200 will go almost anywhere the 650 will. Might not be able to go as fast (both stock).

i'd have to go with what paintballaholik said.

generally the frame between a 125cc bike and a 250cc bike are the same. only difference you are looking at really is the engine, and weight.

last bike I owned was an RM 250, and im now 6 feet 3 bills. when i owned it, I was a lil shorter and smaller. *shrug* that may not be much help.

before you buy one, give each a try. or at least sit on them and get a feel for the weight difference. being of your hieght and weight, I would think that you could handle the 250 without a problem. there is a signifigant power different between the 2.

yea i have had no problems with my 250. im 6' flat and about 210... and i love it. i just want an atv, so im sellin!
