Partial Birth Abortion Ban????

In case you don't know, the senate has passed a bill that would ban partial birth abortion. President Bush just needs to sign, and then for sure it will be argued in the courts.

I personally truly hope and pray this ban is enacted. This is truly a horrible act that we are committing. In case you don't know what a partial birth abortion is, here is some info for you.

I have not come to a conclusion on how I feel about this topic, but I have heard these questions lately...

Should the the senate, who are not qualified medical doctors, be able to dictate medical policy and procedure?

If the medical doctors determine that the procedure is absolutely nessessary for the survival of the mother, shouldn't they be allowed to make that decision?

When does life start?

What if the fetus is diagnosed with a horrific debilitating desease which would leed to a life of dependancy and suffering?

Should I be able to tell you what medical procedure you should be allowed to have?

Jack & Coke....Appreciate the opinion but this is much more than a medical procedure. With this issue the question of "When is the baby viable?" does not come into play. These are babies who are completely ready to be born and can survive outside the womb. If you knew the baby was to be born on Friday and decided on Thursday you wanted an abortion, this is the procedure that is done. Absolutely horrible!

Also, Former surgeon general C. Everett Koop has said that there is never any circumstance where this type of abortion needs to be done.

I'm very pro-choice on the subject, but I think if the mother wants/needs to have an abortion, it should happen QUICKLY. Get it done within the first few weeks you find out you are pregnant.

I won't argue right or wrong, but thats my opinion on the subject.

Ok then. Granted. When you chose to openly defy the rules and don't care you get what you wanted.
