Man. I'm at school. I get about 11 hours of sleep a night. I just do all my work as soon as I wake up. That's the whole key. I don't start my classes till noon or 12 every day. I'm an engineering student, so I work constantly. It sucks. I hate school. I try to get my work done early so I can drink myself retarded every night. That's probably why I sleep so much, I drink myself to sleep. You outta try that.

If you have to stay up late doing homework and what not a little trick that works for me is when I come home from school go to sleep for a couple of hours, then get up and do your homework and what not. I did this becuase I use to work alot and it worked really well for me. Get about 5-6 hours of sleep at night then another 2-3 during "nap time"Comment

In lieu of alcohol, soothing music helps to wind down at night as well. A good book works wonders too (unless you just really get into the book, then good luck putting it down).Don't think of it as being outnumbered, think of it as a wide target selection.Comment

Oh the joys of newly found freedom. Good luck and keep yer chin up. Like everyone has already said...sleep patterns play a huge role. Try to establish a reasonable one. Diet is another big factor....and WATER!!!!! We should drink at least 2 liters of water a day....most of us are chronically dehydrated!

Like others have said, just get your sleep patterns back in order and you should be fine. I'm in Art School to and rarely sleep as well. I find taking naps here and there help me a lot. I also keep a sketch book near my bed as well that I use when I can't sleep. I find that just doing real rough sketches(pretty much just gestures) helps me fall asleep not to mention I have something to get ideas down if I wake up in the middle of the night with some.
BTW: what kind of art program are you in. I'm doing 3d animation with somewhat of a minor in graphic design and getting into concept art(gotta help Prisma stay in bussiness with all the markers that takes

Well I actually got up on time to go to class, although I didn't take Nyquil, or any alcohol (I don't drink). As for class scheduling, since my school has a Core program, I could not move around any of my classes (I ended up taking a writing class that I hate, just because it was the only one I could fit into my schedule).
As for my program, it's a core program, I take a drawing, painting, and sculpture class... I had the opportunity to go to a different school with more majors, but I like this one a lot.
Anyway I hope I can wake up for my class tommorow, because I've missed it twice already... thanks for the support, guys. I should start drinking more water again instead of all the soda I've been drinking.
