Just a question, I dont mean to hijack the thread, but are soundhole pickups worth the money? I was thinking about asking for one for christmas.. dunno though, it doesnt seem like you would get good results from taking an acoustic and putting a pickup over the sound hole...

I'm not a big fan of strats, but I hate the fatty's. I'm not saying strats are bad, I just think they are too, generic. and regarding the fat strat. Strats are meant to have singles, so don't get sucked into the whole immage that humbuckers are just better than singles. the strat tone is supposed to bright. It has survived for a long time as one of the most famous guitars even though it has singles, if you wanted a chunky sound that you useualy get from humbuckers, you should have bought a gibson.

If you want an example of how a fat strat sounds, listen to blink 182 live songs, tom(the guitarist) used a strat with a hummbucker for all his records up to the one comming out soon. If that's what you want then buy all means buy a humbucker and throw it in their, but I wouldn't.

The guitar he used had ONE humbucker. Thats it. What quality guitar has less than two pickups?

his, guitar. that's what does. and in reality, I only use the bridge pickup on my guitar so I may as well have his set up. Tom has a signature sound to his guitar and he only needs one pickup to get that sound, so that's all he has. Now tom uses a gibson holobody, which I think is a much better choise than a strat.

That goth bibson is pretty sweet. I'm praying one day I'l have enough for a custom. but untill them I realy want to save up for a nice blue les paul studio.
