    san bernardino fire

man this thing is really close to home. i dont know how many of you have experienced a close-up wildfire, but it'll scare the crap out of you. less than a mile from my house now, and reports of several of my personal friend's homes are GONE.

    pics taken last night.

my girlfriend's neighborhood had to evacuated, as well as her grandma's house. thankfully this morning they are reporting that their homes are safe. but neighbors a few houses down have nothing to come home to. i was at the top of the city of highland until 1:30 this morning...now the very spot where i was is completely burned away.

Wow... it almost seems like a joke way over here on the east coast, but hearing it from somebody EXPERIENCING it puts everything in a whole new light...

Its less than a mile from you? Whats the radius where you have to be evacuated? A mile seems awfully close for fire

I have to agree with the East Coast comment over here noone really takes those fires seriously. But hearing about it from someone who was there changest things a bit. Sorry to hear about your friends houses, but atleast they wern't hurt.

i live right there and today we were recommened to leave our house cause the fire was literly about 500 yards away. We had to pack up our stuff fast but the hellicopters got it put out fast enough to save all our homes. I managed to stick my mag in the front seat of my car first before the rest of the stuff. The fire is out now so thats good, I hope the 2 kids that started it get hung up by their toes. I dont know if its true but the news here said they were driving a van and throwing flares out the window. They are in jail now but a lot of people are out of homes because of them.

Your mag would probably survive a fire just fine, I believe there are a couple stories about mags being pulled out of burnt down houses and fireing find with a few new seals.

yeah, down in San Diego we're having those fires too. My Aunt and my friends grandparents live up in San Bernadino, they were pretty close to those fires and had to evacuate i think.

Yeah, the whole SoCal is surrounded by fires. Ash can be seen all the way to the coast line. I was in Long Beach today and saw ash on the ground. There are also some deaths, 13 to be exact. 2 of them were in their car trying to get away from the fire. I also checked and over 800 houses were lost.

Schniztel. Stay safe brother. Bad_knees had to be evacuated down in San Diego. Lucky I live in the valley's away from mountains but still it's scary to hear about people I know having to leave. All stay safe.
                            Sorry, I'm old
