Yeah, they changed it this year. I think that was the normal thing back in the day. Before the league went from like, 6 teams to 12. That was in the 60s though, before my time. You'll see it if you watch old games on espn classic I think. I remember the announcers on espn saying that it made you more visible, and gave you a little bit of an advantage if you were dark.

Didn't you ever wonder why they were called the Broadway Blueshirts? It used to be colored jerseys at home, white jerseys away.

A little history on home and away uniforms. the idea started in baseball in the late 1800's. The home uniforms were white and the away were dark. The reason for this was the ability for the home teams to do wash. The away teams had to wait until they got home to wash the uniforms.

Not that this has anything to do with hockey, but an interesting piece of trivia.

with a team like the Rangers....is actually amazing how bad they do...Kovalev/Nedved/Lindros/Leetch(half Dead lol)/Bure(also half dead)/Dunham/Kasparitis/Holik...all great players, and there are more that i didnt even list. its sad to see them lose when they have so much talent on their team.

                        Hmm...let's see here...
                        Kovalev -Ex Penguin
                        Nedved - Ex Penguin
                        Kasparitis - Ex Penguin

Hell..it looks like the Rangers are the left overs from the Pittsburgh and Philly teams of the mid/late 90's

Speaking of the Ducks... They seem to do good against the Eastern teams and really crappy against the western teams. I think everyone on the planet that knows anything about Giguerre knows to go high on him so his "talent" is out the window. I think the Kings would have a great team if they could stay healthy. Two of the biggest players Allison and Deadmarsh have been out since last season. Now all LA needs is defensemen.

Lindros well I personally feel he should have retired. He's like the Steve Young/Troy Aikmen of hockey. Great player but gets concussions all to easy these days. He should hang up the skates like his brother Brett did.

Oh and I like the jersey switch. Most teams away jersey's are their best looking.
                          Sorry, I'm old

The jersey switch is good, I agree.

                            Glen Sather - ex-Oilers coach
                            Mark Messier - ex-Oiler
                            Tom Poti - ex-Oiler
                            Greg deVries - ex-Oiler
                            Anson Carter - ex-Oiler
                            Martin Rucinsky - ex-Oiler
                            Boris Mironov - ex-Oiler
                            Jussi Markkanen - ex-Oiler

Philly and Pittsburgh based off a handful of players? The Rangers have been primarily stocked with ex-Oilers ever since '91 or so.

the thing that I've noticed is a couple of teams wearing thier third set of jerseys instead of thier aways
