It is super sweet. Ford aimed right at the Ferrari 360 Modena with this one.

Could you imagine paying $150k for a Ford though? For that, I'll buy the Aston Martin Vanquish, it is the onlf Ford worth that much!

For the Aston Martin you have to add about another 100k. Nothing like the sound and feel of American muscle either.

i saw this video posted up on ferrarichat.com. This car should be much better then what it is. It should have it's own powerplant (not one from a ford truck) and be n/a, not supercharged. Come on, of course it's gonna beat a Ferrari 360 modena, the 360 has a 390 horsepower V8, with no turbo or supercharger, just pure engine and the car coming after the 360 (supposebly the 420) will have a 450-470 horsepower, still not supercharged. Another thing is that the 360 is a 1999 car, and the ford GT (not a GT40, because if it was, it would be much better) is a 2k3 or 2k4 (not sure). Another thing, when someone asks you, what do you drive, I'd rather tell them a Ferrari over a Ford anyday. Of course, that's just me, I guess whatever makes you happy is the best car for you. But now a days, people look at 0-60 times and horsepower, and figure if the 0-60 is faster and the horsepower is higher, it's a better car. Another thing, Ferrari has the 360 challenge stradale (street legal ferrari challenge car) and I guarentee that will outhandle the Ford GT and most other sports cars out today (notice MOST, not ALL).

500 hp but still not half the torque the gt-40 puts down. Torque is the key remember.

Hmmmmm..... supras are nice and all... but... how many times has a supra taken GT1 @ Le-Mans? Toyota taken GT1 @ Le-Mans? How about the GT 40? Not dogging the supra mind you... those cars can be made to be pretty beastly, but streight line performance is not the end all be all. Put the two cars in the corners and the supra will get handled.

All that said.... I am a die hard ford hater..lol.. (Had some really bad experience with ford's "Customer Care" when I owned my pony). Yeah I think its pretty sissy of them to be running huffers on everything. I think they are tired of getting their asses handed to them by the Naturaly Asperated GM power so they had to go blower... but that of course is just my opinion.

Unless Ford changed their designation, its just the "Ford GT". Its modeled after the Ford GT40s of hte past, but they dropped the 40 in the current name. At least, they did when it was originally released.
