    next comp preformance question

    ok next im woundering if one brand of motherboard is any better than another for A socket, i want to run an Athalon XP 2700 and am looking at a Soyo KT600 dragon + but yeah, i have heard ASUS makes a better board, and blah blah blah...so yeah is their any real differance in preformance?

    btw i decided on saphire RADEON 9600 256M 8X vid card....thanx for the help

    Erm... I prefer the nforce2 chipset over the via... although I've been a via fan for years. Both of these chipsets can be finicky... but I've tossed 2 via boards because of funktified problems common to that chipset. I have 2 Gigabyte boards that are running like champs. Has some nice features, like dual-bios.

      ABit NF7-S (S is for serial ATA)
      Asus A7N8X-DLX (serial ATA again)

      Both of these are based on the nForce 2 chipset. Make sure you get Rev. 2 of the boards so that it supports the 400Mhz bus.


      I'm not under the alkafluence of inkahol that some thinkle peep I am. It's just the drunker I sit here the longer I get...

        thanks for the help guys....im still tryin to figure alot of this stuff out . Its all very confusing...and its alot of deep rooted bias, im not looking for the MOST preformance, i just want some preformance and a bunch of reliability....
