if you can use html in the chatroom then type

<a href="http://www.google.com">text</a> 

and it will appear like this <a href="http://www.google.com">text</a>.
if its an aol conversation just click the link button and in the edit hyperlink box put the actual url in the hyperlink url line and then the text that will show in the hyperlink text line.
