    Is this a real quote?

First off I want to say that I an independant (okay okay I'm only 15 so techinically I don't have a party anyway, but still..) with strong Conservaive leanings on almost all topics. I am a big Bush supporter, but I'll be the first to say that he isn't the most eloquent guy in the world.
    Anyway, here's my question:
In the booklet of one of my NOFX cd's, they have a quote supposedly from Bush on June 14th, 2001. Supposedlt he was talking to the Swedish Prime Minister at the time, and thought the cameras were no longer rolling.
"It's amazing I won. I was running against peace, prosperity, and incumbency." Now, as I said Bush may not say the right things all the time, but I dont think anyone would be stupid enough to ever say anything like that. Even so, NOFX is an honest band and I wouldn't think that they'd fabricate a quote and say it's true. So, did Bush really say this?

He was also arrested 3 times...and ducked out of 'nam... but I'm not supposed to say that cause if I do "I'm supporting the enemy by being non-patriotic"

Edit- To answer... My guess would be yes... uhh... cause.. NOFX are smart guys.. right!?

      Who cares.

Why beat a dead horse, no president is perfect or says the right thing all the time.

Personally, I am the strongest Bush supporter that I know. I back Bush in most of the calls that he makes, yet I will agree that some are whack

Well that's the reason I tried to make it clear that I'm a huge Bush supporter in the first place, and also said that he isn't an eloquent guy. But JEEBUS, how and why would anyone say anything like that? Even if he was slightly misquoted and/or the quote was taken out of context that's a hell of a thing to say.

"Most of our imports come from other countries* etc...

**edit** And I'm sure most of the stupid things he said, he didn't MEAN to say... they just came out wrong between his brain and his mouth, know what I mean??

What you're failing to see is that he was simply stating the truth. He had every right to be amazed that he won, I mean come on, just look at how close it was. The "Peace, Prosperity & Incumbancy" line was more of the truth. There were no major conflicts, economy was relatively well (although the downslide had begun) & Gore was in a sense, an incumbant. See, nothing wack at all

Big G is dumb, but I can't see him being that dumb, as to say somthing like that, but I guess it must have happend.

That man is very easy to make fun of, the bush vs. bush debate on the daily show was amazing. But he realy didn't have much to live up to after clinton turned the white house into his personal penthouse, Then bomb the middle east to take the heat off himself. He's not that bad of a prez as far as i'm concerned, a little too redneck, but ok.

Well technichly not all imports come from other countries cuz i would consider Toyotas an Import cuz most of the money goes back to japan but most of the cars are made in plants here. So it would kinda be an import that comes from here or summin liek that.

Yeah I guess walking into Monticello, pointing to the busts of the past Presidents on the wall and asking "And who are they?" doesn't rank up there...

And NOFX....I like some of their music, but they're a lot like RATM. Just a bit too political for more then one song at a time.

Ill be the first to say im a bush supporter, however, it would have to be true. It would be illegal to put quotation marks and his name, then have it printed, if it werent true. They could have the pants sued off of em if it were made up.

God, how I wish McCain had run. When I was voting, I felt like I had to choose between the tin man (Gore the Robot) or the scarecrow (If I only had a brain...).

Actually, they weren't really political at all until war on errorism (all they sang about was drugs in previous albums).
