    Anyone have experience with the ARMY W.O.F.T. program?

    Right now im trying to get into the WOFT program (Warrant Office Flight Training). I have more than exceeded teh ASVAB/FAST test score requirements. The only thing that I can see possibly shooting me down is my academic performance. I've always been somewhat of an under-achiever and currently have about a 2.8 GPA. Im wondering if anyone knows if the army can look past that to see the well adjusted, ready to work, young adult that I am. Im just soo nervous about this because Ive wanted to follow in my dad's footsteps since I was little. My father was a Cobra Attack Helicopter pilot in the Vietnam war and reached the rank of W4. Other than my GPA I have a LOT of stuff going for me. I just hope that I can convince them to accept me.

    Can't go straight to Warrant. You must be at least an E5 (Sergeant), and have completed all the Non-Commissioned Officers schools (BNCOC & ANCOC). Some college may be required, depending on your branch choice of MOS. This may sound like a long time...but you have until you are 45 before the cut-off There are other rquirements, however, those can be achieved as you go along in the Army.

    BUT! A high school diploma is a great start!

        Click on the following;

        then click on civilian applicants ...

        You can go straight into the Army as a warrant officer, but only for helo's ....

        As a former Marine, Im sorry there is no way I could respect an 18-21 year old warrant office knowing full well that all of our WO's are former enlisted of at least Staff Sergeant rank ...

          Yeah it is possible ARMY, I have allready been researching for a while and talking to the recruiters. Im not going into the Army unless I get into this program. If I dont get accepted then Im going into the navy as an Aviation Mechanic. In a nutshell the basic requirements are as follows:

          -At least 18 yrs of age
          -50 or greater on the ASVAB test (I got an 89)
          -Within the ASVAB have a score of 110 or higher in the GT section
          -90 or above on the FAST test
          -Meet all physical requirements
          -HS Diploma or a GED and a semesters worth of college credits

          So just about anyone can be qualified for this. Now whether or not people (myslelf) can be competitive against the other applicants is another subject. As I was just looking at the results from the most recent board session, only about 1/10 of those who applied were accepted, with about 3/10 being granted another chance in front of the board.

          And to LOPTXC-
          That is your opinion, but If I get accepted then it is for a reason, because I earned it. And also this is the beauty of the whole thing, even if you don't really respect me, if I were a WO then you would at least have to pretend.
