I know manual is nice and controlable but as a regular transport you will want an automatic, since when did America have decent twisty roads and you know the way they (the cars) are set up from the factory they are built for comfort not road holding...fiddle with it and of course you will get the handling but it will shake you to bits. I would buy a totally different car but then you have said you don't want alternatives....I have driven Corvettes here and as long as you get a good one (new models don't fall into this description) then there is power to spare.....just remember to make sure the handbrake is released...Corvette hand brakes lie about being released
I know if I moved somewhere with RHD, I would have to assume it would be very diffrent to shift lefty for a while.
