Argg The worst company every READ

GRRR. Let me tell you about my ISP, my isp is msn but the people im talking about would be quest, because there the ones that order the service. So i ordered 256, it works great and im lovin it, so my mom orders 640. Well for some reason it takes 3 days for them (quest) to put the order through, Than the day comes when i should be having 640 so i check my modem and i still have 256, The next day my internet starts to do weird things so i call msn. They asked me to go to my modems ip adress and shure enough there was my ppp conection turning on and off. So basicaly im on the internet for 30 sec and then off the internet for 30 sec. So we hold off on ordering the 640 again (quest forgot to put the order through) and i call msn. They tell me its my line so they put out a ticket to fix my line through quest. So quest says we wont be able to come to your house until 2 weeks from friday ( take in mind that i live in montana Not in a huge city) Okay so the 2 weeks come up and they forgot to come to my house and fix the line. so my mom calls them and they assure us its the modem and to make us feel better they "check" the line. So i call up msn ( The good guys) and they assure us its the modem. They told me that quest will say things but mean somthing else. Also that quest realy dosnt know what there doing. He said that the only people at quest that know what there doing is the MOCK people and there is no way for costumers to get there number. also they tell me when i call these MOCK people that ill probly get in a huge fight with them because the MOCK people will try and pin it on msn. But msn being the nice guys give me the number even though there not supposed to. Also I asked them to send another modem just in case quest is right. Msn was as shure as possible it wasnt the modem but they sent me a new one anyways for free. Okay so the next day all of the sudden my internet works. Im guessing The msn technical guy spoke to quest and told them how to do there job right. Now my internet works and i have a new modem comming to me. Jeez . Oh ya. im getting 640 dsl for 25 dollars a month, 5 dollars cheaper than 256 because we have so much services from quest. THANK YOU MSN SPANK YOU QUEST

Qwest (note: the correct spelling) is usually pretty stupid. However, any time you have an arrangment like that (two big corporations providing two different parts of a service) they will tend to blame each other.

In your story MSN was blaming Qwest and Qwest was blamining MSN. You really have no idea who fixed your problem. A PPP problem could easily be MSN, it could also be a infrastructure problem on Qwest's side. There is no real way to tell.

yah, you seem very pro msn but theirs no way to tell what was going on between the company's, if anything did happen. When it comes to any buisness, they're usualy fine as long as their getting your money, and usualy wont go out of their way to deal with other company's if they dont have too.

I also had a hard time getting high speed internet. I was trying to get cable internet, but the cable guy couldn't find the cable, and they kept sending guy's out to my house, and every time they would say they couldn't find it, and everytime they would say they would send somone out to put in a new cable box, and every time they would send the same guy's back to tell us the same thing.

It was free instalation so we didn't get charged for anything, and after a year of this we just got highspeed phone line internet.

and if your gonna tell a long story like that, paragraphs are a big help.

I have dealt with Qwest a few times with Frame Relay and T1 circuits. Out Frame provider for the US is AT&T and they hand off to who ever the LEC is in a particular area. Qwest happens to be the LEC in the Seattle / Tacoma area where one of out sites are. I can tell you just from the problems we have had with this circuit Qwest has no idea what they are doing and has the poorest technicians I have ever talked to. So, I know nothing about MSN, but I can say, Qwest does suck.

Muzikman I used to work for an ISP with many FR and PtP T1s from Qwest. If there is any hand off between telcos, it complicates the issue greatly. On all Qwest lines they are a dream to work with. I could get techs to resolve even the strangest problems, even in the middle of the night.

I don't want to come off as a Qwest fan-boy. They are morons when it comes dealing with consumers. However, they deal pretty well with most high cap lines. I'm pretty much under the impression that MSN is the devil from my ISP days. They are complete and utter cluevoids.

Problem is, most of the technicians that they send out actually have no training working with components, drivers, or even opening the case of a computer. They are good at running cable though, and that's why they're sent. When I called Time Warner to install my cable, they sent a guy that had done on the job training for only 2 days, by himself, and had only seen 1 complete installation. In the end, I ended up installing it.

Maybe someone can PM me why my sig was tampered
with when my image is below 20 kb and was 350x159.(20435 bytes/1024 bytes per kb = 19.96 kb.)

That's true about most onsite DSL/Cable/whatever techs. Truck rolls with skilled techs that know PCs are damn expensive. If you think you are getting that with your "free" isntall, you are misguided.

The onsite T1/FR/PRI techs are far more cluefull. They may not know about PCs, but that's not revelent for a real telco tech.
