Hey everyone, I was recently assigned a major project for my Global Insights (basically uber honors Global Civ) class. The idea is to pick one person, living or dead, who created or played a very major part in a revolution. We have most of the school year to research them and make a large presentation in June. I have to have my choice in my next Wednesday. I have decided to do a punk musician. Please give me your ideas on the most influential punks, and how they were 'revolutionary'. Punk haters need not post

I don't think any noteable punk bands have ever made any major change in the world. Other than just singing about how stuff is bad. If you chose someone more prominent, you will have a much easyer time doing your prodject. -
Well it doesnt really have to be a change in the world, just in the 'field', so I guess a change in music, etc. People did Hendrix and others, so it doesnt have to be like a nobel prize winner or anything. I'm pretty set on doing a musician though. It's Bold As LoveComment

Why don't you do Bradley Nowell of Sublime? He was an awesome musician, and an interesting person to boot. And yet, he died before his time came. God only knows where sublime would be nowadays if he had just hung on. There's a book about him, it's called "Bradley Nowell: Portrait of a Punk" Check it out.I'm nothing more than text to you...

I was thinking about Jello B. originally, but I cant think of any ways that he's changed the punk scene OR anything else.
Brad Nowell is cool and it wouldnt take me a lot of research (I used to be and still am to some extent a HUGE Sublime fan), but I don't really see him as revolutiuonary. I might check out the book though, for some insight, but I don't know. It's Bold As LoveComment
