Two Essex County men and a 15-year-old boy were charged yesterday with the nearly year-old murders of two employees at the FuncoLand video game store in Roxbury. Authorities said robbery was the motive for the killings.

One of the suspects, Omar Thomas, 26, of Irvington, made regular deliveries to a nearby ice-cream shop and often stopped at FuncoLand to play video games, authorities said.

Public response to a digitally enhanced surveillance photo of Thomas was the key break in the case, authorities said.

Charged with two counts each of murder and felony murder, and first-degree robbery were Thomas; Rahman Allen Vaughn, 24, of Newark; and a 15-year-old Newark boy, authorities said. Thomas and Vaughn also was charged with two counts of weapons possession.

The three suspects were arrested over the past two days near their homes, authorities said.
I hope they give all 3 of them the chair.

Cruel and Unusual? What about those two victims that were made to get down on their knees and shot in the back of the heads execution style? WHY do these criminals get to live while those other people died for NO reason, except for some money and video games.

That 15 year old knew what he was doing. Peer pressure as a defense can only go so far and in this case I think is total BS. This was a premeditated crime.

          Thats an opinion.

And as to Rmark's question "what about the victim?" If you want to bore the heck out of some people start talking about the victims. They simply don't care.

Well the electrc chair has been outlawed in all states, instead we use lethal injections, thus they will not fry.

Also, My opinion on the death penalty in alot of cases, is that there is always a chance they may have the wrong person.

So if somehow this person, who has just been executed, is later found to be innocent. Another innocent life has just been destroyed. I'm not saying that these men are innocent, actually i highly doubt they are, but its just that principal, that makes me against the death penalty in almost all cases.

And its not fair that these men killed the clerks, and they should be rightly punished. But honestly seeing someone rot in 6 by 6 cell in the dark, seems to be almost as bad as dieing to me, but keeps the justice system from being hypcritical and commiting the same act in which they are punishing for.

And also the kid admitted that it was the older men who shot the clerks, somehow it seems he was just pulled along for the ride, although i dont doubt he was involved in some way shape or form

But this is just one man's view

And my heart goes out to the family of the men who were killed, I hope they do found some solace in the fact that the guilty will be prosecuted.
