    Best Concert EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I just got back from a concert that I went to tonight, The ataris with hopesfalls and mistaken for stars. Now first off, I know what your gonna say, they arnt real punk, I dont care they put on an awsome show.

The reason it was so good was because I never went into the mosh pit until this concert, and let me tell you, IT'S SO FREAKING AWSOME. Just moving to the beat with the crowd. I was jumping around and running into people for about 3 hours, and by the end I though I was gonna die I was so tried and I was sweating like a pig. Most fun I've ever had.

All the people that go to concerts and just stand around and watch are missing out on alot. It's such crazy fun. Even if your small, don't worry. most people are realy nice in the pit and if you fall down they'l pick you up in a second.

I didn't crowd surf this time, cuz the crowd on the whole was pretty weak, and lots of people were being droped, no one was hurt, but lots of people didn't make it to the front. I think I'l try it in a crowd that can atcualy life someone up.

So if you go to any kind of rock show, dont waste your time just standing around, you should at least move around a little.

Bah! You think that's a pit. Go to a few death metal shows.

Glad you had a good time. It definetly makes the show more fun to if your doing something, rather than just sitting there and watching.

ive been to a few smaller local shows, the pit is fun when its small.

I'm going to see 3 Days Grace on Sat--hopefully it'll be a good show. If it isn't, at least I got to see some live music for only $8.

I saw Seether, Die Trying, and some other dingle-nut band about a month ago--now that show freakin' rocked! If you get the chance to see Seether, I really suggest you go. They covered Nirvana's "You Know You're Right" and if I hadn't been watching them, I'd swear Kurt Cobain was onstage...

The one thing I have noticed about pits in the recent years...there is no love. The first time I ever hit a pit was at a DRI show in 89 or so. You got the crap beat out of you, but in the end everyone was there for one reason, the music. These days it's like people go to shows just to hurt people. Call me a wimp, call me a pansy, but I don't want to be punched in the face on purpose. I have taken boots to he nose, elbows to the eye and have left my share of blood on the floor, But not one of these was on purpose. I have had my fun in some of the wildest pits you can imagine...I'll leave that all to the little kids now. What needs to come back is slam dancing...it's a lost art these days...but lots of fun.

Uh, I dunno what kinda shows you go to, but slam dancing is far from dead.

Pitiquette seems to depend on the band. If you go to a show for some band where the fans are all gonna be little angry 15 year olds, they are out to hurt people and act like ********.

If you go to a show where the audience is going to be in their 20s, you get a much better pit.

For example, I saw Drowning Pool / Pressure 45 / Nonpoint / Taproot once. Awesome show, but the pit sucked because all these little kids were there to see Drowning Pool and they were out to hurt people. I spent half the night bouncing uppity little kids off the floor after they decided to jump up and elbow me in the face.

On the other hand, every time I go to see Clutch, the Pit tends to be full of much larger people (who have finished growing <G>), but no one gets hurt. If you fall down, you have 6 people picking you up. If you lose a shoe, someone will pick it up, and hold it up in the air till you come claim it. If you try to start a fight, well, security is probably coming to save YOU, not the other way around.

So it all depends on the makeup of the audience.

Yeah, I've definately been to my fair share of shows and it definately depends on the band ig you're gonna get a good pit or not. I think probably the best pit I've been in was when I saw soulfly at this small club in Seattle. There wasn't a little kid in the crowd at all and the pit was friggen crazy. But yeah, like Thordic said, the younger crowds today are just trying to start fights for no reason trying to be tough.

I remember the first time I saw CKY I got into more fights with little 15 year olds trying to be cool than any other show I'd ever been to.

That's why I go to more indie shows now. If there's gonna be kids under 16 there, they're there cause they truly like the music and don't try to start anything.

It depends on the band, since it was the ataris, I was actualy like average hight compared to most people their (I'm 5'6) and the pit was awsome. No one was punching anybody on purpose or anything, the only crazy guy's were this one guy that went into the middle of the slam dancing cercle and stsrted punching the air in front of him. But it was all friendly, If you fell you would be picked up in a second, and no body tried to hurt anydody, it was great.

I wouldn't go in a pit at like some crazy punk band's concert or something like hatebreed or any other kind of mettal band. They are freaking crazy in thoes pits, punching and all that kind of stuff.

From what I've seen, the older people were the only ones being violent but their were only like one or two of them being violent, the rest were realy cool guys, helping people up to surf and stuff.

And slam dancing is definatly not dead, their was alot of slam dancing going on at the ataris concert. I'd like to add slam dancing is amazingly fun too.

The last show I was at was the Jagermeister Music Tour with Slayer, Hatebread, Arch Angel and Arch Enemy. And the pit when Hatebread started was a punch of idiots and was just how discribed it. When Slayer came on, there was no pit. i was kind of shocked by this, but then I thought about it. As far as Slayer fans go, I was even kinda young. As for slam dancing, I have not seen true slam dancing in years. Last time I think I can say I saw true slam dancing was at a Husker Du show in the early 90's. Now days it's just one big pit and people trying to crowd surf.
