    AIM is being stupid... help?

1.) It likes to lag on me. I'll most likely realize it's lagging when I can't view someone's profile..then all the sudden I get 100 messages at once (f2 shows I recieved them at the same time).

2.) Direct Connect - I can't do it to a bunch of people. To get it to work half the time, they will have to connect to me. I can't connect to them. Also, recently with a freind whom sends me lots of stuff though DC.. it will freeze mid-transfer. I can send her stuff fine, but she can't sent me anything.

    3.) AIM sucks

    1) 56k? See #3

    2) If one of you doesn't have 56k, firewalls disturb that... a lot...

    3) Jackpot!!

Well then, judging by your given answers... I'm gonna hafta say that my professional opinion is that #3 is the cause for all your troubles.

Wow... that just happened to my teammate tonight, except it wasn't his friend, and we think it was a hacker, because he warned everybody on his BL. Somehow he also got lots of other passwords, because he deleted all of his e-mails... before he could do much else, I had my friend get offline and turn his computer off, and I talked to him on the phone and changed as many other passwords and stuff that we could think of.

**edit** lol I just remembered something I should probably change, so as to prevent from getting my arse kicked: whenever I said "I" above in reference to changing passwords and such, I meant falconguy. But he explained everything to me... that's close enought, right?!?

You said your on roadrunner. Roadrunner has been having a lot of problems around us lately. Our house, and a bunch of other people have been having problems. AIM is where you see it mostly. I get a lot of error messagest saying that I sign on and off to soon. It's all roadrunner messing up. I get that error 3 code a lot. I can't read away messages. 20 messagest just show up at once. Or I just won't get messages. I dont know what the problem was, but we called roadrunner and they came and fixed it. I know a bunch of people in apartments around me that were having the same problems.

AIM = Gayness in the anus.

I really don't know what better to recommend other than ICQ. It's a little more sophisticated and harder to get used to than AIM is, but its actually a great proggy once u get to know it and all of its features.

YIM sucks ballsack too. MSN is a decent program, the functions all seem to work!

I know AIM sucks.. but it's pretty much the universal messanger.

Yahoo used to be good.. but now it's spamfest. I loved the offline messanger feature. That was really nice.

MSN.. Never tried it..But no one I talk to uses it.
ICQ.. I don't like it. And again.. no one I talk to uses it.

I'll try calling up RR and see if they can work some magic and get things working well.

AIM was giving me problems that day too. Maybe something with their servers?
