Go Benchmade. While gerber and spyderco are well made, they tend to be on the lower end of things.

If you want to get super expensive and fancy, look at Chris Reeve knives.

I have a Benchmade Switchback. Not only is it a gorgeous knife, Benchmade has an awesome warranty plan. The new "axis" locking mechanism they're using now is ridiculously sweet, It's what I prefer over anything now.

Yeah, its a util. knife, but its cool because its foldable, and the blade is always extra sharp... cuz u can buy like 100 packs of blades for cheap cheap cheap

learn to sharpen a knife, it'll be sharper than a utility blade. and hold an edge a lot longer too.
