say nighty-night for a LONG time. your heart might even say "goodnight, I'm going to sleep and won't wake up."
Beware, b/c too much of nyquil will overdose you with the depresent that helps you get to sleep. enough of it and it depresses your body functions to the point where your heart stops beating and you also stop breathing.POG Member #919

then get the gel caps. works like a charm!
and yeah, do exactly as the directions tell you. don't assume otherwise due to height, weight, or whatever. if it says: "Adults: 2 tablespoons once every 12 hours. do not exceed 4 tablespoons in any 24 hour period" then do JUST that. Those indications were created so that you'd get the proper amount of medication w/o overdosing. don't exceed it!
simple as that.
And I agree: a while ago I had one nasty head cold, and it was nyquil that helped me get some fitful rest and allowed my body to fight off that cold
. Good stuff, that nyqui. It might be nasty (so is robitussin! YUCK!), but if you've got a cold and you can't get to sleep, you'll be desperate for relief, and you won't even MIND taking the nasty tasting medication as long as it allows you to stop coughing, stop sniveling, and GET SOME REST
.

problem is that when you go to sleep, your body automatically reduces breathing and heart rate. if he took enough nyquil to stop his heart, it'll happen once he falls asleep. till then, the body in a conscious state will NOT stop the heart from beating and the diaphram from moving unless a paralyzing agent is administered. In an unconscious state, however, the body is totally vulnerable to being depressed far enough as to arrest breathing and heart beat.Originally posted by MagMan5446

That's a negative there, chief. But when you're THAT tired, and sleep deprived (probably) and physically depressed (not mentally. we're talking the supression of bodilly functions, like what happens when your body goes to sleep) while awake, you'll start to imagine things, probably. That's just my speculation, and isn't backed up by any observations and whatnot, just from what I've seen of myself when I'm up really REALLY late.Originally posted by land hurricane
