Sick to death of the news...

I'm a certified news junkie, and I am sick to death of the top three news stories: Micheal Jackson, The Laci Peterson Murder, and the number of troops killed in Iraq. Does this bother anyone else? It seems that all you ever hear about is those three news stories. I hate how it is so repetetive.
It wouldn't be so bad, but they are also all over Court TV as well. This is getting just a little out of hand.

You forgot the Ben/Jen nonsense. It kills me that Fox News (my favorite) will do a story about the Medicare bill that's really in depth with good coverae and then break to commercial and return just to tell me that J Lo's mom is pressuring her to marry Ben because Ben spends a lot of money on the mother.

I did not need to know that.

I watch Fox news during the day just because it doesn't have idiots completely running the show.

But yea, I agree, the news lately has really gone to hell. NO ONE CARES ABOUT MICHAEL JACKSON! We knew back in 1993 that he was a molester. It's not news. It's disgusting. Tell me when he goes to jail and/or does not go to jail. Not when he get's in a limo to go to K-mart. NO ONE CARES!

The latest news around here was the 3 ERAU students busted in the dorms with drugs with a street value of around $3000 and a sale value of over $8000. Now all 3 are facing Class II and Class III felony charges brought by the state of Arizona. Plus, they've been immediately expelled from ERAU forever. Tragic case. I was an alternate student justice for each of the 3 appeals when they tried to appeal the expulsion sanction brought by the school against them.

The problem is the news media relies on revenue brought in by commercials. Until the vast majority of Americans care about what happens internationally, then the news will always be this domestic crap. I mean really can we make it illegal to cover trials until it is over, then maybe something like he was convicted. If I am to watch news I normally turn to CNN, for IMO compared to Fox News they show more international coverage with less of a slant, not saying there isn’t a slant. But for good news I turn to BBC, or any other foreign news programs. Most of my news comes from newspapers from a variety of sources, from the NYT, to the WSJ, to the St. Pete Times.

BBC, ugh. Talk about a slant. They're actually trying to take over the British government.

And Fox isn't more slanted then any other coverage, it just slants the other way. I tend to watch Fox, because i like the personalities more (except Shepard Smith, I just don't like him and I haven't figured out why). For internet coverage I meander between CNN and FoxNews's websites. The headlines are all the same but they usually have different secondary items.

I think you mean Al-Jazeera and BBC are the same, since both are totally anti Iraq war. Now Fox on the other hand is tired of waiting for the next one.
