Internet Explorer Problem

Whenever I try to launch Internet Explorer, an error message comes up saying:

"This module was compiled with a trial version of Delphi. The trial period has expired."

Any ideas? I'm running IE 6.0 SP1. Just started happening today.

sounds like spyware to me man ... download AD AWARE from www.downloads.com and run it ... you should be fine

Thanks for the input.

I found out that whenever I try to select Network Places or Control Panel, the same error message appears. Obviously it's not jsut a problem with IE. I've ran Spybot Search & Destroy along with AdAware6 numerous times.

Still not working. Thanks for your help though.

I've found that IE has more problems than its worth. I use Opera, its problem free and I find it loads faster. Check it out.

Well, I'm using Opera right now. But I can't even access Control Panel or anything in the first section of the Start button.

Seems like one of the IE plug-ins that was downloaded was compiled with a trial version of Delphi. Since IE is heavily tied into Windows, that's also probably why Control Panel refuses to open.

Anyone have any ideas on how to remove those plug-ins?

Opera was cool for about a day till I realized I hated it.

depending on the version of windows your running, try the following:

Start >> Run >> sfc /scannow
and then click OK

If that doesn't work ,try:

Start >> Run >> sfc
and then click OK


That may help, but otherwise your probably looking at a format and re-installation of windows..

slushee, thanks for your help so far.

For some reason, every file except one is able to be copied off my WinXP Pro install disk. However, that one file is apparently on the "Windows XP Professional Service Pack 1" CD. As far as I know, SP1 was a DOWNLOAD and not a CD???

Hehe any further suggestions?
