You know, just when I want to beat Bush with the Medicare stick he goes and does something that I can really get behind.

I think it was great that he went into a active conflict zone to see the troops he put in harm's way for Thanksgiving. Sometimes I'm really glad I voted for him.

I was suprised it hadn't been leaked by the press weasles.

As as his medicare entitlement, he just played the Clinton game of stealing the other sides thunder on an issue.

I ain't too happy about yet another taxpayer theiving entitlement, but it's done.

That was way cool, especially the way they announced him! Looks like the soldiers in Baghdad really appreciated it too! It's nice to see the leaders do stuff like that every once in a while. It serves as a reminder that they're human too! Way to go Bush!!!

dont you get it? all he cared about was looking good for the cameras. the man doesnt care about our troops. he cuts benefits and wont even give them decent flackjackets. 30000 troops still dont have decent armor.

Actually, I think you're wrong. According to the news, he SERVED the troops!

While the president was speaking with and serving food to the soldiers, newscasters back home were reporting that he was enjoying Thanksgiving dinner with his family at his ranch in Crawford, Texas. That was what reporters had been told by White House officials.

I'm sure if he was so concerned about "looking good" for the cameras...he wouldn't have been tearing up now would he?

Just imagine being the president and being in a country that you are at war against...my bum would've been in and outta there REAL quick too! He had to before anyone found out he was there. I know we all have our own opinions, but at least try to understand a little where other people are coming from...

I love the people that can literally NEVER find good in the other side. Bush does care about the troops, why else would he risk life and limb (don't think the insurgents wouldn't love to shoot our president out of the sky) to visit the troops. He gave his little speech, thanked the troops, served dinner, and met and shook hands with as many people as he could. It was a FAST trip, only about 3 hours, so there are other things he could have done, but that doesn't change the fact that we went into an ACTIVE warzone to see his soldiers.

And Bush has been President three years. It isn't as if he wants the soldiers to not have armor, the administration and the Pentagon work day and night to provide more resources to our troops. The interceptor vest with Sappy plates is standard issue and is a monster at providing protection. Some of the stories I've heard about those vests are simply incredible.

A most wonderful gesture on his part to say the least. He has alot of balls...and he uses them too. Thank god we dont have a sissy like Al Gore in there running from the enemy. Long Live GWB! Your a great man! Keep up the good work!:o

I get a real kick out of people that think that way, and there's more of them then I would prefer.

I don't like Clinton. I never did and I never will. But that doesn't mean I don't like NAFTA and the tax cut he passed. I don't like him because I think he's of low character and ideologically too different from me. However, that doesn't mean I think he eats babies or that he is so completely evil that he can NEVER do anything right ever.

Also, just because you may think Bush did this as a photo op (which certainly is not a far fetched thing to think) doesn't mean that in addition to his alleged self serving motivations he didn't also do a good thing by visiting his soldiers in a war zone.

But, when you grow up maybe you'll understand then.

yeah real brave he never left the base. if he was brave hed take his motorcade through the city. he has an armored limo whats the big deal? and why cant he be bothered with attending the funerals of the troops killed in this farce?

Um...was did clinton do for the troops? A raise? Ah, nope. Hm..send us into harms way for no reason? Yup. And, it was absoltuely DISGRACEFUL to have Hilary address the troops on Thanksgiving. You know she passed a white house POLICY FORBIDDING the wearing of the military uniform while in thew wihite house? How is THAT for "troop support"?
