where is the best place to get the latest half life update, and then the latest counter strike update. i still wanna play 1.5, but idk how many servers are on 1.6 right now

About half of the servers are now on 1.6. Also, there are no more HL or CS updates outside of steam, and when there are updates, the games are automatically updated.

I used to play 1.6, but my CS clan broke up and so I uninstalled Steam and CS. The only reason I still had CS on the computer was b/c I was in a clan. Now that I'm clanless, I've stopped playing CS. paintball is just much more fun, I guess .

You can still play 1.5 once you have 1.6. You can choose to not remove your old half-life files if you want, but it takes up more space on your hard drive. To get Steam, go here. http://www.steampowered.com/index.php?area=getsteamnow

wasnt there something about what i have to get, or will it be totally clear?
(should i get the full steam installer, then i will be able to play all the games, or get each individual one?)
also is this "clean" like virus free?

Steam is virus free.
I think you can get the 'only half life' version if you want. Steam will convert your current mods so you can use them.

Which is free? They are all free. What you need is the Half life steam installer. (im pretty sure)
