Drummers- Get a cool clicky sound out of your bass drum

I just read about this online and took a trip to guitar center.

Vinny Paul (Pantera drummer) uses this 'mod' and if you like metal then you'll probably love this sound.

It cost me about 7-8 dollars total.

What you need:
- Kick Pad(s) for bass drum
- 1-2 quarters (depending on how many bass drums/pedals you have)


All you do is stick the quarters to the sticky side of the kick pad(s), then stick the whole package on the drum head.

It's a tad hard to explain.

Yeah man, it sounds really good, I knew about it for a while, just saved up 10 for the pads today though

like beater pads? like those things that are supposed to save your drum head? cool

It's an annoying sound but that's just me. You can also do the same thing by changing the beaters.

Yeah, but it turns out if you put quarters in them (as mentioned) they get destroyed much easier.

Yeah, my beaters are backwards now, plastic side against drum, not the felt.

another cool thing is tape 2 coins to ur ride, but let them danle, it gives it a washey sound, almost like a ride with rivvets.
