    Bass guitar info?

Hey all. Well, I've been playing guitar for about 3 years now, got pretty good, but it's just not doing it for me anymore. So, I've been thinking of taking up bass guitar. It seems like theres not alot of bassists out there, so I think it'd be a little more fun (Everyone and their mother seems to play guitar, lol). So, my question is, is there really any way to become a "great bassist?" I mean, we have all heard of Hendrix, Stevie Ray, etc., and all that, but is it like "Wow, he's a great bassist"? I guess what I'm trying to say is, can you be recognized as a bass player, or do you become "just another bassist"? I never hear of any good bass players, so....maybe I'm confused? Thanks, everyone.

        yea, what he said.

there is a kid in a band local to me, that is coming to the point of his life, where he is about to dust the likes or les claypool, flea, and reggie arvizu.

        check out these to clips:

this kids name is Brendan, plays in the band Scarecrow Hill, who incidentally, you can check out all their music and such at www.scarecrowhill.net.

for 10 extra bonus points, guess how old this fella is...

        *edit*

video isint that great, but, you can still hear the sound very well, and see enough of the video to watch this kid in action. you do really have to see him play live to truly appreciate the way he plays. its rediculous.

brendan, is only 15 years old. has been playing for 2 years. at this young of an age, he as got nothing but learning and growing infront of him.

it is really something special to see him play in person. its something you have to be there to musically appreciate. he is also excellent on guitar and keyboard. only thing he cant really do is play drums

best part of all.. he's my teacher as soon as I get my bass.
